The logic of the file is a little different in student applications: since most students do not have a regular income, financial sufficiency is usually shown through a sponsor.
1. Documents showing student status
- Student certificate — must be issued by e-Devlet or the school within the last month.
- Transcript — although not mandatory, it supports the file because it shows your current status.
2. Sponsorship documents
For the person covering the costs, the following documents are usually requested:
- Sponsor letter (signed)
- The sponsor’s income documents
- The sponsor’s bank statement
- A copy of the sponsor’s ID
We explained in detail how sponsorship is documented in our article on sponsors.

3. If you are under 18
Extra documents come into play for applicants who are minors:
- Parental consent letter (notarised) — if the child travels alone or with one parent
- Birth certificate / civil registry record — shows the tie to the parents
- Copy of the parent’s passport and visa — for the accompanying parent
- For divorced parents, a custody document
4. If the application is for study abroad
If you are applying for study abroad, the school acceptance letter and, if any, the payment receipt are also added. Country-specific documents are requested, such as the I-20 and SEVIS receipt for the US and the CAS document for the UK.
A common mistake
The student certificate being out of date. These documents “age” quickly; obtain them again close to the application date.
You can get the list specific to your situation from the document assistant.
