What Can You Do After a Visa Refusal?

Mountain peak rising above the clouds

A negative visa result is disappointing, but it does not prevent you from applying again. What matters is that the second application is made not with the same file, but with a file prepared with an understanding of the grounds.

1. Read the refusal notice carefully

When an application is refused, a notice in which the grounds are ticked is usually issued. This notice is the roadmap for your second application. The grounds most often fall under these headings: the purpose of travel not being clear enough, accommodation or the travel plan not being supported, means of subsistence not being sufficiently shown, doubts about the reliability of the information provided, or the intention to return not being sufficiently demonstrated.

2. Turn the grounds into your file

Every ground has a document that answers it. For example, if the purpose of travel was not found clear enough, in the second application the documents showing why and how the travel plan was made are strengthened. If doubts arose about financial sufficiency, you proceed with documents that show the flow of income more clearly.

3. Do not submit the same file again

Submitting the file from the first application again without changes increases the likelihood of the same assessment. The file should make it clear what has changed in the new application.

4. Don’t rush, but don’t wait unnecessarily either

Although there is no mandatory waiting period, second applications made quickly without fixing the gaps usually lead to the same result. It is healthier to allow the time needed to prepare the file.

5. Keep your statements consistent

The information you gave in your previous application and the information in your new application should not contradict each other. Differences in basic details such as profession, address and purpose of travel should be explainable.

What does Velora Vize do at this stage?

For applications after a refusal, we first assess your current situation and your previous file. Then a new document list is prepared according to the areas that need strengthening, and a file review is carried out before the application. We would like to state that the outcome is at the discretion of the relevant official authority and that no promise of approval is given at any stage.
